You can do everything right when you’re getting your business off the ground, but if you don’t have the right marketing strategy in place, people may never know you exist. Work with a marketing agency if you don’t have the expertise in-house to do the job to get a good strategy off the ground for when you’re ready to open the doors. When you first open, you should offer coupons and discounts to entice customers to visit your business as part of your marketing strategy.  Spreading the word about your business is vital to its success and shouldn’t be overlooked.

The one mistake you want to avoid when getting your startup off the ground is when it comes to staffing your business. You need to have the right people in place to help you when your business opens or you could end up losing time, money and even customers. Before you open your business, go through a thorough vetting process to get the right people in the right roles. You should have somebody with a solid accounting background to help manage your books, a person with some marketing savvy to manage your marketing presence and some dynamic people who can handle customer service. You want to hire people who care about your business’s mission and want to see it succeed as much as you do. 

Remember to have patience as well, as most businesses aren’t an overnight success. However, once you have all the right pieces in place, you should be ready to get your startup off the ground.
